We are holding our fifth Puppet Contributor Summit the day before PuppetConf 2015 on Wednesday, October 7th.

This event is for both existing and new contributors to Puppet, related projects, and modules, and we would love to see the following people attend the Contributor Summit!

  • People who submit pull requests and contribute code to our projects
  • Community members working on related projects
  • People who contribute to Puppet Labs modules or contribute their own modules to the Puppet Forge
  • Key community members who answer a lot of questions about using Puppet
  • Long-time Puppet users who are interested in doing more

If you are interested in attending, please register for the combined "Contributor Summit + PuppetConf" ticket (the Contributor Summit ticket is no extra cost - this just helps us know how many will attend).

Have you already registered?
If so, here are a few things you should know!

Hacker Tables: We will also have hacker tables devoted to various topics all afternoon, so bring your laptop and plan to collaborate with other people on contributions. You might even want to come prepared to work on a particular module or core Puppet component that you're interested in improving.

Open spaces / hacking tables kickoff: We'll start the open hacking period with short presentations, usually 2-3 minutes, about what you'll be hacking on throughout the day. Start thinking about it now and come prepared if you'd like to let others know what you want to work on – or listen to others' ideas and join in at their table! Each table will have a laminated sign you can write the topic on.

MVP Award: We are having our 2nd annual MVP: Most Valued Puppeteer award this year at PuppetConf. We want to recognize community members who’ve made great contributions to the Puppet community over the past year. The winner will be determined solely by the Puppet Contributor Summit attendees. You’ll get a chance to put in your vote at the event; all you need is the first and the last name of the person you’d like to nominate.
